The plans below show the site of a farm in 1950 and the same site today.
Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.
Student answer (Band 6.0)
The provided maps compare the current layout of Beechwood Farm from 1950.
Overall, it is evident that the farm has been converted into a commercial sector by adding different facilities. Furthermore, the northern area became more developed, whereas the southwest side remain unchanged.
Looking first at the northern part, the area where sheep were kept has been fully modernized by adding a camping field in the middle along with the parking lots in the each corner of the eastern and the western side. Additionally, multiple solar panels have been added to the northeast of the farm.
Turning to the eastern side of the map, a farm shop has been built, while the areas for fruits and vegetables remain unchanged. Tracks have been converted into roads and Barn has been relocated connecting to those roads. Additionally, farmhouse and the area for the chickens remain the same in the southeast side while holiday cottages have been installed next to them.
