Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0
The response attempts to summarize the information by highlighting changes between 1950 and today. However, it lacks a clear, well-developed overview, only superficially stating that the farm underwent development. The description of features is quite disjointed and misses several key additions, such as the farm shop, camping field, and solar panels, while misinterpreting some comparative features (e.g., claiming the chickens area was wider than any other place). Data selection and comparison are limited, placing the response around Band 5.0 in Task Achievement.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0
The text is organized into basic paragraphs representing an introduction, an overview, and body paragraphs for each time period. However, progression is weak, and the logical flow is disrupted by repetitive phrasing (e.g., starting sentences with 'To begin with' and 'Second plan'). Cohesive devices are minimal, mechanical, or inaccurate (such as 'with that also had chickens area'), and referencing is occasionally unclear. Paragraphing is attempted but lacks proper cohesion within sections, corresponding to Band 5.0.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.0
Vocabulary is limited and basic, featuring frequent spelling mistakes and awkward word choices ('infrastrcutre', 'panles', 'toper conner', 'uncover the information'). While the student attempts some less common terms like 'infrastructure' and 'solar panels', the numerous lexical errors and unnatural collocations ('goes under a lot of development') restrict the vocabulary score to Band 5.0.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
The essay displays a very limited range of grammatical structures. Simple sentences dominate, and attempts at complex or relative clauses are generally faulty or incomplete (e.g., 'vegetables and with that also had chickens area which was wider than any other place' and 'On the place where once had tracks now has changed'). Punctuation and article errors are frequent throughout the response, resulting in a Band 5.0 for grammar.
