IELTS Writing Task 1 question

The plans below show the site of a farm in 1950 and the same site today.

Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.



 

Student answer (Band 5.0)

The plan illustrates the site of a farm in between 1950 to today. The farm name is “Beechwood”. It has a road in the east north side and a river north east to south. It has fruits and vegetable fields.

In the previous design, there is a massive land space for sheep on the west south side. At the end of it, a road is on north west. In the middle of the a sharp track is on the right including fields and barn etc. The fruit trees, soft fruits and vegetable land is downward to the track in the left side. It also has a barn, farmhouse and chickens in the southern corner. A river flows from north west to north.

In the new design of today, the road and river is on the same place. The land of the west side including solar panel and parking. Next to it camping field and parking is added. On the place of track a new road is repaired and attached a barn in the east upward to the river. The fields are in the same areas, by contrast a farm shop is build in the fruit trees. In the lower right side only holiday cottages formed.

In the conclusion, the new design is invaluable as it has many facilities including sunlight energy and demanding functions. It attracts more visitors attention toward it.
