IELTS Writing Task 1 question

The plans below show the site of a farm in 1950 and the same site today.

Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.



 

Student answer (Band 6.0)

The given illustrations depict the current and 1950s plan of the Beechwood farm. The farm have gone through a lot of changes, from being a simple agricultural farm to a modern day farm for holidays. Some of the things that have not changed about the farm are the road shown on the left side of the house and a fruit trees orchard beside the road. Soft fruits garden and vegetables section that were located next to the fruit trees orchard, are also there as they were many years ago. River still runs in the same place at the bottom end of the shown plan. The biggest change is the sheep farm at the top of the farm that is converted to a holiday space. Moreover, solar panels has been added to provide electricity, parking spaces have been created and camping field has been set. In addtion the track inside the farm has been converted into a road and holiday cottages have replaced the barn just next to the trianguar junction.
