IELTS Writing Task 1 question

The plans below show the site of a farm in 1950 and the same site today.

Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.



 

Student answer (Band 5.5)

The diagrams explain how site of Beechwood farm looks in 1950 and nowadays.

Overall, it is crsytal clear that many facilities are provided as compared to past such as camping field, holiday cottages and parking etc. But the road will be same in past and now also.

At a fleeting glance, it is evident that in the year of 1950, there was a river in Beechwood farm. There was track in a traingular shape at the centre of this farm. In the beginning of track, there were fruit trees, soft fruits alongwith vegetables shop. In north direction, there was empty space for sheep. Barn, farmhouse, and chicken houses were available in south direction.

Nowadays, there are many changes in this farm such as solar panels and trees etc. Track is replaced with road in same shape but barn is attached with it in centre of the road. The place of sheep replaced with parkings, camping field, trees and solar panels for electricity. Soft fruits and vegetables are same as compared to 1950. But , farm shop is established in fruit trees. In north-east corner, chickens and farmhouse are in same position with same shape. Holiday cottages are constructed along the road.
