IELTS Writing Task 1 question

The plans below show the site of a farm in 1950 and the same site today.

Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.



 

Student answer (Band 6.0)

The given map shows how the Beechwood farm has developed over the last thirty years . There have been several changes , the most noticeable being the facility for accomodation, the introduction of solar panels and the parking areas .

In 1995 , to the north east , maximum area was used for thr grazing of sheeps . In its opposite direction , there was a vegetation of fruit trees , soft fruits and vegetables . Along with it there was a track , that seprates it from the area of sheeps . At the right corner of the plan , there was a barn , farmhouse and place for chickens . A long river flows along with the farm .

Turning to the presesnt day map , it can be seen that the place for sheeps have completely gone , being replaced by the advanced features . This includes the solar panels with its seperate parking at the top right corner of the map. There is an addition of camping field which has its own parking , also many trees have been planted in this area now . The track is now transformed into a road . In the begining of the road , there is a farm shop on its right side, where fruit trees were there. The barn is now replaced with the Holiday cottages and it is now shifted at the corner of a traingular road . Rest of the area remains unchanged .
