The plans below show the site of a farm in 1950 and the same site today.

Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.



 

Student answer (Band 6.0)

The maps below demonstrate the changes that has been made to Beechwood farm from 1950 to the present day.

Overall, there has been several significant changes made to the sheep farm and barn while the soft fruits, chicken and vegetables farms remained at their previous positions. Also, there are no changes made to the main road and river except the fact that the tracks has been upgraded to smooth roads.

Initially, there is a new farm shop in the fruit tree farm just beside the road. The barn has switched its location and is now built across the V-shaped road while being connected to it. The previous barn has been converted into holiday cottages. There are numerous major changes made to the sheep farm; it is separated into two partitions with one partition equipped a camping field with tents and trees while the other partition has a array of solar panels. Moreover, each partition have a parking lot installed.

On the other hand, soft fruits, vegetables, chickens farms along with the farmhouse, river and main road was unaltered.
