The plans below show the site of a farm in 1950 and the same site today.
Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.
Student answer (Band 6.0)
The layout of two plans illustrate the site of a Beechwood farm in the year 1950 and the same at present.
Overall, the site of farm has undergone considerable transformations. While some of the original features such as fruit trees, soft fruits, vegetables, farm house and chicken has been retained. Although some areas are relocated, new features like solar panels, camping field, farm shop, parking and holiday cottages have been added.
In 1950, in between track and rivers, area was covered by fruit trees, soft fruits and vegetable that was retained in the present. However farm shop is contructed besides fruit trees and parking area next to it across the road in the northern side. Additionally, sheep area was transformed, camping field and solar panels were introduced to it in the north.
To the northern region, barn was relocated to the extreme right below the road while keeping chickens and farmhouse at the same location. Whereas, holiday cottages were added in the north-eastern side replacing barn which is now located at the junction of triangular road.
