The plans below show the site of a farm in 1950 and the same site today.
Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.
Student answer (Band 6.5)
The plans compare the same site of a farm in 1950 and the current year. There are quite a few things that have remained the same through all these decades, but there are also some major changes that can be observed.
The road touching the farm on the north west corner remains the same along with the U-shaped river flowing from the same corner towards the south and then east of the farm, both creating an external boundary. The soft fruit and vegetable fields stayed unchanged along with the area for chickens and the farmhouse. The layout for the field of fruit trees was also not changed but an addition of a farm shop is made.
However, there are some noticeable changes as well. The location of barn is changed from east of the farm to south, connecting to the roads which tracks in 1950. Exactly where barn was located decades back, 3 holiday cottages are created now. There is also an addition of two parking areas. One is situated right opposite to the farm shop, and the other is opposite to the holiday cottages.
Moreover, the area allocated to sheeps earlier is now divided into two parts. One of those is a camping field now, and the other has sollar panels.
