The plans below show the site of a farm in 1950 and the same site today.

Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.



 

Student answer (Band 6.0)

The given diagrams show how the farm site has been changed since 1950.

Overall, alot of changes are made to the farm in 76 years span. There is addition of parking areas to the plan along with camping field, farm shop and solar panels. Some of the facilities are repurposed and other are relocated.

In 1950, the farm site plan was quite simple with a river, flowing. The vast area on the north-east side of the farm was reserved for sheep. On the the south-west side of the plan there were distinct areas for fruit trees, soft fruits and vegetables all connected by a track, going all the way to the barn. Beside barn there was a farm house. On the south of farmhouse chickens were kept.

Today, the area for sheep is well utillized by the addition of camping field, two parkings and solar panels. Track is renovated into road; a main road and two connecting road. The south-west area is somewhat same with the addition of farm shop in front of the fruit trees. The barn area is repurposed into holiday cottages and barn is relocated to the south-west of the farmhouse with the road connecting to the main road. Farm house area for chickens is same as they were in 1950.
