IELTS Writing Task 1 question
The plans below show the site of a farm in 1950 and the same site today.
Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.
Student answer (Band 5.5)
The first artitech maps shows the old view of the farm in 1950 and the new map illustrates the few advanced changes made to the farm till current date.
Overall, there are number of changes occured over the seven decades at the beechwood farm. The wide area dedicated to sheep is now divided and transformed into multiple key areas. One significant change is the installation of solar ponals that will help by providing power supply to different areas of the farm like holiday cottages, farm shop, farmhouse etc.
A building that was previously being used as a barn is now transformed into a holiday cottage to easily accomodate the visitors. While, the barn is relocated to middle of the farm, at the diverted end of the road.
The track that runs thorugh the whole farm is changed into a road leading to different areas of the farm. There are two parking areas introduced in farm, one is at the start of road on the left side and other is at the end of the road. The road also have a diversion in the middle that leads directly to barn.
Along with initial parking spot, camping feild has been setup to allows visitors to camp under the open sky. Right opposite to same parking spot, a farm shop has been setup that allows visitors to shop the essentials they need.
