IELTS Writing Task 1 question
The plans below show the site of a farm in 1950 and the same site today.
Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.
Student answer (Band 6.0)
The layout illutrates the changes of Beechwood farm between 1950 and present day.
Overall, the farm underwent significant development, the most significant one being the sheep farms side where it was divided into two parts (camping fields and solar panels side) with each part having parking of their own. The tracks was converted into roads however, the southern part of the farm had only minor transformation.
On the north side of the farm where it used to be a sheep farm, it has been divided into camping field with a parking and solar panels have been added on east side with a parking lot. On the opposite of the solar panels, the barn has been converted into holiday cottage but the farmhouse and chicken house remained the same.
The track has been turned into roads now and on the south of the road intersection a barn has been added. There is a farm shop added in the fruit trees section however soft fruits and vegetables garden remained unchanged.
