Student answer (Band 5.0)
The map illustrates two different years and give information about changes.
Overall, in both map there are no any changes for chicken, farmhouse, vegetables and fruits while some changes are clearly visible in current map with extra camping field and solar panels.
To begin with first map in 1950 we can clearly seen one sheep ground right side of the farm and there are of the sheep fields just under the sheep ground and the left part of track was covered by fruits trees, soft fruits and vegetables when the right side of track was filled by Barn, farmhouse and chicken farm. and at the end of the map there is one river crossing the road. Becwthhood farm.
Moreover, the current scenarios of this farm is looks more attractive compared with first one there are parking ground just right side of road and camping fields and some extra solar panels available for electricity there is one extra parking just under the solar panels in the middle part of the farm. the track was changed as a road. However vegetables, soft fruits and fruits trees are also there as well as first map there is only one extra farm shop visible under the road. Farm house and chicken farm also seen there same place but in current map the Holiday cottage builded the place of barn and at the lowest the river is also there the south part of farm.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0
The response attempts to describe the changes shown in the two maps of Beechwood Farm. An overview is attempted, noting the addition of a camping field and solar panels, and the removal of the sheep area. However, the report suffers from significant inaccuracies and omissions regarding spatial relationships and features. For instance, the student states that there are 'no any changes for chicken, farmhouse, vegetables and fruits', which is inaccurate regarding the layout changes, and misinterprets the transformation of the barn into holiday cottages. Key features such as the farm shop and parking areas are mentioned, but the overall summarization is confused and lacks clear organization of comparative data. This performance aligns with Band 5 descriptors.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0
The essay is divided into paragraphs, but the internal structure and cohesion are weak. The student attempts transitions such as 'To begin with' and 'Moreover', but sentences are often run-on and lack appropriate punctuation, making the progression difficult to follow. Pronoun referencing is frequently unclear (e.g., 'there are of the sheep fields just under the sheep ground'), and cohesive devices are used mechanically rather than logically. Paragraphing is basic and does not effectively separate the overview from the detailed body points. This fits Band 5 criteria.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
The vocabulary used is basic, repetitive, and often imprecise for an academic task. Words like 'map', 'changes', and 'farm' are overused. There are numerous awkward word choices and phrasing errors, such as 'current scenarios', 'sheep ground', and 'Holiday cottage builded'. Spelling and word formation errors also appear throughout the text. While the writer manages to communicate some basic ideas, the limited range and noticeable errors place this response firmly in Band 5.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
The grammatical range is limited, relying mostly on simple and flawed complex sentence structures. There are persistent errors in basic grammar, including subject-verb agreement ('the map illustrates... and give', 'current scenarios... is looks'), missing articles, and incorrect verb forms (e.g., 'we can clearly seen', 'builded'). Punctuation is largely neglected, resulting in run-on sentences that require the reader to work harder to decipher the meaning. These frequent grammatical errors limit the score to Band 5.
