The plans below show the site of a farm in 1950 and the same site today.
Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.
Student answer (Band 6.0)
The two plans illustrate beachwood farm has changed from 1950 to the present day.
Overall , the farm has undergone considerable , changing for mainly agricultural site into more diverse area that combines farming with tourism and renewable energy. While the fruit trees, soft fruits ,vegetables feilds have remained ,several new facilitieshave been introduced .
In 1950, the northern part of the farm contained the area of sheep ,while fruit trees, soft fruits and vegetables were grown in seprate feilds in the western nd central sections. A farmhouse and barnwere situated in the southeast,with achiken area nearby. A road ran along the western side of the farm, while another road provided acess to the buidings .The site was also borderd by the river to the site .
Today the sheep area has dissapered and has been replaced the camping field,with several tents and a tree. Afarm shop and parking area has also been added near the main road . In the northest ,solar pannels and another parking area have been installed . The former barn has been relocated to the position closer to the centre of the site , while the farmhouse remains in the southeast .In addition, holiday cottages have been built besides the farmhouse , indicating the farm's increase focus on tourism.
Despite these changes , the areas devoted , to fruit trees , soft fruits, and vegetables have largerly been retained ,as have the main road and triver sorrounding the soutern boundry.
