Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

The response covers some parts of the task, presenting an overview and comparing certain features between 1950 and today. However, the information presented is incomplete and contains inaccuracies. For instance, the student states that the 'fruit trees, soft fruits, and vegetables' remain the same in both photos, but overlooks the addition of the farm shop nearby and changes in layout. Furthermore, the sheep area from 1950 is noted as absent today, but the transformation into a camping field and solar panels is under-developed or missed. The overview attempts to summarize the changes, but overall the development of the main features lacks thoroughness, keeping the response at this level.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.0

The text suffers from significant organizational issues. Paragraphing is not used properly; the entire response is clumped together into a single block of text rather than being divided into a clear introduction, overview, and body paragraphs. While some basic cohesive devices are attempted, they are often misused or mechanically injected, such as 'In addition', 'Furthermore', and 'Ultimately'. Logical progression from one feature to the next is frequently disrupted, and referencing is unclear at times, making the overall flow difficult for the reader to follow smoothly.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

The vocabulary used is limited and barely adequate for the task. There are noticeable lexical errors, word formation issues, and typographical problems throughout the text, such as 'advancement' instead of 'development', 'illsutrate', 'subtantial', 'moentioned', and 'Hoildays cottages'. The student attempts some less common vocabulary items like 'contemporary society', but inaccurate word choice and spelling mistakes occur frequently. While meaning is generally conveyed, these lexical flaws cause some difficulty for the reader and restrict the score.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

The grammatical range is limited, relying mostly on simple sentences, while attempts at more complex structures frequently result in errors. There are frequent mistakes involving articles, prepositions, and subject-verb agreement, such as 'in first image', 'the infrastructure of farm is simple', 'the above moentioned section is not appear', and 'one more part is made in farm a Hoildays cottages'. Punctuation is also problematic, notably with missing spaces after commas and periods. These frequent grammatical errors cause strain and difficulty for the reader.
