Student answer (Band 5.0)

Two plans are shown under. The one is a plan of the beechwood farm of 1950 and the other one is of todays. A clear depiction of plans can be seen among both. Advancements have been made to the plan. Scientists thought to commercialize the site by incorporating more shops and recreational sites to the farm.

Farm shop is shown to built besides fruit trees which is seen to be absent in 1950. Scientists are becoming more familiar to the minds of people about the habit of their travelling and exploring new places these days. After doing various researches, sceintists along with builders decided to make a proper map to the plan of beechwood farm and planned to add more fun things to it.

Proper brainstorming was done. The sheep area has been totally transformed into camping field and barn turned out to become holiday cottages where people can come to have a peaceful stay there. For smooth operations of electricity, solar panels have been installed. A special area is allocated for the parking in order to avoid traffic hussle. The lifestock is been shiffted to the meeting point of two roads which was beneath the track before. Thus, a good place to visit for tourists and travellers is made.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

The response attempts to address the prompt by comparing the 1950 map of Beechwood Farm with the present day layout, but it only partially covers the requirements. While some main features are mentioned, such as the sheep area becoming a camping field and the addition of a farm shop and solar panels, the information is somewhat limited and includes irrelevant external speculation about why scientists and builders planned the site. Key comparisons between the two maps are under-developed, and the overall overview lacks clarity regarding the major spatial shifts across the decades.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.5

The organization of the essay shows some attempt at paragraphing, but there is no clear overall progression or logical structure guiding the reader through the spatial changes. Cohesive devices are used awkwardly or inaccurately, such as referencing ('The one is a plan...' and 'The lifestock is been shiffted...'), which disrupts the flow of information. Paragraphs lack thematic unity, mixing descriptive map details with conversational, speculative commentary.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

The vocabulary range is limited and minimally adequate for the task. There are several noticeable lexical errors, incorrect word forms, and spelling mistakes that distract the reader, such as 'todays', 'hussle', 'lifestock', and 'shiffted'. The writer attempts some less common terms like 'commercialize' and 'recreational sites', but misuse of collocation and phrasing (e.g., 'Farm shop is shown to built besides...') limits precision and clarity.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

The text displays a limited range of grammatical structures, relying heavily on simple sentences and basic passives. Attempts at more complex constructions are often faulty, such as 'Farm shop is shown to built' and 'The lifestock is been shiffted'. There are frequent errors in verb forms, articles, and prepositions that can cause difficulty for the reader and impede smooth communication.
