Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
The response addresses the main aspects of the visual data by comparing the 1950 farm layout with the present day, noting key transformations such as the addition of the solar panels, farm shop, and holiday cottages. However, the development of the ideas remains limited and under-developed, with some inaccuracies in reporting specific features, such as misinterpreting the 'sheep' area as being directly opposite the track. Furthermore, the overview lacks clarity as it fails to capture the broader structural shifts of the site cohesively, resulting in a partial treatment of the task.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The response demonstrates some organization, dividing the description between the 1950 layout and current changes, but lacks clear overall progression. Paragraphing is weak, as the entire text is condensed into a single block with poor punctuation and sentence separation. Cohesive devices are minimal, mechanical, and occasionally inaccurate, such as abrupt transitions like 'moreover' and 'on the other hand we have the todays map', which fail to guide the reader smoothly through the spatial comparison.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
Vocabulary is limited but minimally adequate for describing the maps, featuring basic terms like 'farm', 'track', and 'river'. There are noticeable lexical errors and awkward word choices, such as 'holded' instead of held, 'quit suficient' instead of quite sufficient, 'consume the more efficiently comperetivly', and 'atteched' instead of attached. These lexical and spelling inaccuracies cause some difficulty for the reader and prevent the vocabulary range from reaching a higher level.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
The response displays a limited range of sentence structures, relying heavily on basic clauses joined by commas or run-on sentences with missing punctuation and capitalization. Attempts at complex sentences are frequently faulty, such as 'the track, fruit trees, soft fruits, vegetables, is almost same in both the site just a little modification'. Frequent errors in verb forms, subject-verb agreement, articles, and prepositions are present throughout the text and frequently cause difficulty for the reader.
