Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0

The response addresses the task only partially. While the student attempts to contrast the 1950 farm layout with the present day, the selection of features is incomplete and heavily reliant on fragmented observations. Several major transformations, such as the addition of holiday cottages and the repositioning of the barn, are mentioned with confusing spatial references, whilst others are omitted. There is no clear, cohesive overview presented at the beginning, leading to an underdeveloped response that fails to fully capture the extent of the site's modernization.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.5

There is some organisation present with paragraph divisions, but the response lacks a clear overall progression. Ideas are frequently jumbled together without logical sequencing, making it difficult to follow the spatial comparisons between the two maps. Cohesive devices are used inadequately and often mechanically, such as 'Additionally' and 'It is noticeable that', and referencing within sentences (e.g., 'the side of triangle road side Barn area remove') is frequently unclear, causing the reader to struggle with the direction of the narrative.

Lexical Resource: Band 4.5

The vocabulary used is very limited and often inappropriate for an Academic task. The student relies on basic terms and struggles with word choice and collocation, resulting in confusing phrasing like 'today time', 'competitve parking', and 'new adventure'. There are noticeable errors in word forms and vocabulary usage throughout the text, such as 'bulidings', 'partician', and 'systematically', which impede clear communication and restrict the range to a basic level.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5

The grammatical range is severely limited, consisting mostly of faulty attempts at complex sentences. The response contains frequent errors in verb forms, tenses, word order, and prepositions inside grammatical patterns, such as 'no too much bulidings built available' and 'Farm area remove from the right corner to shift at twice area'. These frequent structural inaccuracies and awkward clauses cause considerable difficulty for the reader and prevent the formation of error-free sentences.
