The map illustrates the changes made to the Beechwood Farm and how it looks different at the present as compared to 1950.
At a cursory glance, it is clearly evident that the addition of various different facilities has been made. Formerly, the farm was quite under-developed and lacked crucial neccesities; However, it looks much more equiped and modern at the present.
To commence with, it can be seen that previously the farm had no parking facility but today there is a parking area at the enterance area and opposite to the holiday cottages. Moreover, there is an addition of a farm shop at the enterance on the opposite side of the parking area. Camping field and solar panels have been installed in the area where previously sheeps were kept.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 7.0
The response successfully covers all parts of the task by identifying the main features and making clear comparisons between 1950 and the present day at Beechwood Farm. The student outlines key transformations, such as the replacement of the sheep area with a camping field and solar panels, and the addition of holiday cottages, a farm shop, and parking spaces. An overview is provided in the second paragraph, which captures the general shift from an under-developed farm to a modern, commercialized site. However, the progression is slightly uneven in terms of detail, with certain features described more thoroughly than others, which prevents the response from achieving a higher rating. Overall, the information presented is accurate and directly derived from the visual data.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5
The response is organized into logical paragraphs, beginning with an introduction, followed by an overview, and moving into specific spatial comparisons in the body paragraphs. Cohesive devices such as 'To commence with', 'Moreover', and 'In addition' are used to structure the information, though some transitions feel slightly mechanical. There is a clear overall arrangement that guides the reader through the changes from the entrance to the southern and eastern parts of the farm. Referencing is generally clear, although pronoun use and linking between sentences occasionally show some rigidity, reflecting a solid command of structural flow that falls just short of seamless progression.
Lexical Resource: Band 6.0
The vocabulary used is adequate for the task, attempting some less common items such as 'commercialized', 'transformations', and 'facilities'. However, there are notable spelling and word-choice errors that slightly impede precision, including 'neccesities', 'equiped', 'enterance', and 'sheeps' (instead of sheep). While the writer demonstrates a sufficient range of vocabulary to convey the main features of the maps, these lexical slips and minor inaccuracies in word form limit the score. To improve further, the student should focus on accurate spelling and refine collocations related to map descriptions, avoiding non-standard plurals and spelling mistakes.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 6.5
The writing displays a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, with attempts at subordinate clauses and passive voice constructions, such as 'the old simple track has been transformed into a new road' and 'Holiday cottages have been built'. There are some grammatical errors and awkward phrasing, such as 'how it looks different at the present as compared to 1950' and 'the addition of various different facilities has been made', which reveal minor control issues with prepositional phrases and redundant modifiers. Nevertheless, these errors rarely impede communication and do not obscure the meaning of the report, supporting a reliable mid-level control of grammar and punctuation.
