The given draft of the beechwood farm in 1950 deplicts information about the farm site difference from the same site construction these days.

In year 1950, the farm site shows various locations like, there is a quite short river on the east-west side of th farm and below to the road there are various catagories like fruit trees, soft fruits and vegetables site. There is also a track inside these things and north-east side of woodbeech farm there is a sheep closure and below this to the closure there is also various constructions for instance barn, farmhouse, and chickens . At the south-west side of farm there is a river site.

But according to recent construction, there are so many developments and modifications which shows the recent beechwood farm totally different from the past farm site. Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0

You identify the two time periods and mention several relevant features, including the river, the three crop areas, solar panels, parking and holiday cottages. However, the comparison is only partly developed: the overview that the farm is “totally different” is broad, and you do not explain the main changes in land use, such as the former sheep area becoming a camping field or the addition of a farm shop. Some details are inaccurate or unclear: the river is not simply “quite short” or on the east-west side, and the crop areas are not all unchanged in location. To strengthen the response, give a clear overview of the major transformations, then compare the key areas more precisely using their positions on the plans.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

The response has a basic chronological structure: it first describes the 1950 plan and then turns to the present with “But according to recent construction”. This helps the reader recognise the intended comparison. However, the first paragraph becomes a long list of locations, and the second gives only a few changes without a clear order or grouping. Linking phrases such as “there is also” and “and below this” are repetitive, while references like “these things” and “this closure” are not always clear. Organise the report into a brief overview followed by focused paragraphs—for example, one on the western fields and river, and another on the eastern buildings and new facilities—and use precise location links to guide the reader.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use some relevant map vocabulary, including “river”, “fruit trees”, “soft fruits”, “vegetables”, “solar panels” and “holiday cottages”, so the reader can identify several features. However, the range is limited and some word choices or collocations make the description difficult to interpret. For example, “various categories” is vague for fields, “sheep closure” does not accurately describe the sheep area, and “significant outlets” is not an appropriate term for the new facilities. There are also noticeable spelling errors, including “deplicts”, “catagories” and “beecgwood”. Use standard map terms such as “area”, “field”, “facility” and “building”, and check spelling carefully.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt longer sentences and use some time references, but the grammatical range is limited and errors occur frequently, sometimes making relationships between features unclear. For example, “the farm site shows various locations like, there is” combines sentence patterns incorrectly, while “there is also happened significant outlets” has an incorrect verb construction. Agreement and article use are also problematic in “Solar panels area are installed”. Several sentences rely on repeated “there is” structures, and punctuation does not consistently separate ideas. Practise building clear simple sentences first, then combine them with accurate clauses such as “The sheep area was replaced by a camping field” and “A farm shop was added beside the fruit trees.”
