Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

You identify the main transformation from a farm to a more commercial and recreational site, and you compare several important features: the sheep area is redeveloped, roads replace tracks, a farm shop is added, and the former barn site becomes holiday cottages. You also correctly note that the fruit trees, crops, farmhouse and chicken area remain. These relevant comparisons support a clear overall account. However, some details are unclear or inaccurate: the two parking areas are not both “across the road,” and the former barn is described as being in the south-east, whereas it is south-west of the farmhouse. The overview that the site became “commercial space” is also broad and overlooks its camping and agricultural uses. Develop these less clear points with precise locations and a fuller summary of the site’s mixed new functions.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0

The response has a recognisable sequence: an introduction and overview are followed by details about the northern area, then the crops and buildings. This gives the reader a basic route through the changes. However, progression within the detail paragraph is sometimes difficult to follow, particularly in “At first there is a parking spot beside the road thereafter there is a camping field,” where the relationship between locations is not clear. Linking words such as “however” and “whereas” are used, but some connections feel mechanical or do not clearly signal the comparison. The paragraphing is also limited, with most map details crowded together. Group the changes by area or by what stayed and what changed, and use clearer references such as “to the north-east” and “in contrast” to make relationships easier to track.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use relevant map vocabulary, including “solar panels,” “camping field,” “farm shop,” “holiday cottages” and “joint triangle roads,” so the reader can identify many of the features being compared. There is also some attempt to vary wording with “layout,” “developed” and “remained.” However, several word choices and spelling errors reduce precision, including “camp houses” for tents, “parkin” for parking, “compeletly” and “transfered.” Phrases such as “a slight renovation” and “got a barn side” are not natural descriptions of changes to a site. Aim for accurate, conventional map language and check spelling carefully. More precise verbs such as “was converted into,” “was replaced by” and “was added” would help describe the changes clearly and avoid vague expressions.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt a mixture of simple statements and longer comparisons, for example, “The fruit trees area remained unchanged but it added a slight renovation by adding a farm shop beside that.” This shows an effort to connect ideas, but the sentence structure and reference are not controlled enough to make the relationship clear. There are recurring errors in tense and verb forms, as in “now it has became” and “it now converted,” as well as missing articles and awkward sentence boundaries. Punctuation is also inconsistent: several sentences run together after full stops, and commas are often attached directly to the following word. Use past tense for the 1950 plan and present tense for today, and practise accurate comparison structures such as “The area remained unchanged, while a farm shop was added beside it.”
