Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.5

The response recognises that the farm has changed and mentions several features shown today, including parking, a camping field, a farm shop, holiday cottages and solar panels. However, it reports the plans only minimally: there is no clear, accurate account of where these features are located or how the 1950 layout differs from today. The claim that “many farmhuse” existed in 1950 is unsupported, and the statement that the farm shop, fruit trees, vegetables, barns, chickens and farmhouses “remain same” is misleading: the shop is new, while the barn has moved and the farmhouse and chickens are retained. Focus on the major changes and the features that stayed in place, using accurate comparisons rather than comments about beauty.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.0

There is an attempt to move from a general statement about change to a description of the present-day site, using markers such as “Overall,” “Furthermore,” and “However.” Nevertheless, the ideas are not arranged into a clear comparison of the two plans. The opening overview is difficult to follow, and the later list of new features is followed by a contradictory list of features said to remain unchanged. Several sentences run together without adequate spacing or punctuation, while “Let’s have a look” and “Pouring the some light” do not create a clear progression. Organise the response into an overview and focused paragraphs comparing the 1950 layout with today, and use linking words only where the relationship between ideas is clear.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

The response uses some relevant topic vocabulary, including “parking,” “camping fields,” “solar panel,” “fruit trees,” and “holiday cottages,” so the reader can identify several map features. However, the range is limited and many expressions are inaccurate or repetitive, which sometimes makes the meaning difficult to understand. Examples include “the given farms compares,” “new project are solar panel installed,” and “the sheeps”; spelling errors such as “Vegitables,” “Camoing,” and “Paeking” also reduce clarity. Phrases such as “very beautiful” and “full details” are vague and do not help describe a plan. Build a more precise set of location and change vocabulary, such as “situated,” “relocated,” and “converted,” and check spelling and collocations.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5

The response attempts a few longer sentences and uses basic contrast markers, but sentence structures are mostly simple or incomplete, and errors are frequent enough to make parts difficult to interpret. For example, “The given farms compares illustrate” has faulty agreement and sentence construction, while “the beechwood farm went several prominent changes” lacks the correct verb pattern. There are also problems with articles, plurals and tense, as in “a beechwood farm,” “the sheeps,” and “many farmhuse … of checkens and sheeps.” Punctuation and capitalisation are inconsistent, with sentences joined directly after full stops. Practise accurate simple sentences first, then combine them using controlled clauses to compare past and present.
