Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5

You identify the main transformation: the farm has gained visitor facilities, the sheep area has been replaced, and the track network has become roads. You also compare the retained fruit, soft-fruit and vegetable areas with new features such as the shop and cottages. This covers the task well overall. Some details, however, are unclear or inaccurate: the sheep area is not replaced solely by solar panels and camping, since parking is also shown there, and the shop is between the fruit trees and internal road rather than clearly “in the north-west.” The claim that the soft-fruit and vegetable spaces “have remained same” is also too definite without qualification. More precise coverage of the changed layout would strengthen the overview and comparisons.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, an overview, and two paragraphs describing changes in different parts of the farm. This gives the reader a generally coherent route through the information. However, progression within paragraphs is sometimes abrupt, and several linking devices are used mechanically or inaccurately. For example, “Although” does not introduce a complete contrast in the third paragraph, while “Moreover” and “furthermore” appear in the overview without clearly connecting the ideas. Some references are also vague, such as “each areas” and “the entire track,” making it harder to follow exactly which locations are being compared. Grouping changes by location and using clearer links between old and new features would improve cohesion.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use some relevant map vocabulary, including “occupied,” “replaced,” “constructed,” “southern most corner,” and “y-junction,” and you attempt to describe development rather than simply list labels. However, the range and control are limited by frequent spelling errors and imprecise or unnatural collocations. Examples include “sitaution,” “potrays,” “aminities,” “accomadations,” and “Resedential.” Phrases such as “parking slot,” “space for holidays,” and “developments of the farm” are not the most natural choices for this report. Use accurate, specific terms such as “parking area,” “holiday accommodation,” and “the farm’s facilities.” Careful proofreading and more precise location vocabulary would make the description easier to understand.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and more complex sentences, including a contrast with “Although” and a participial phrase in “giving space for the Holiday cottages.” However, control is inconsistent, and errors in sentence construction, agreement, articles, and punctuation sometimes make relationships unclear. For example, “their was an increase” has incorrect subject–verb agreement, and “the space for soft fruits and vegetables have remained same” has agreement and article problems. The opening overview also joins clauses awkwardly: “Moreover, track was renovated entierly with the roads.” Commas and spacing are often missing, and sentence boundaries are not always clear. Practise accurate basic clauses first, then build longer comparisons with correct agreement and punctuation.
