Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0
You identify several genuine changes, including the replacement of the sheep area with camping and solar facilities, the addition of a farm shop, and the conversion of tracks into roads. You also note that the farmhouse and chicken enclosure remain. However, the response only partially summarises the plans: the overview is unclear, and important details such as the two parking areas and the location of the holiday cottages are omitted or confused. The claim that the barn changed into cottages is inaccurate: the barn remains, while cottages are added south of the eastern road. The response is also 37 words below the required minimum, limiting the detail you can provide. Organise the main changes more fully and check each comparison against the maps.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0
The response has a basic paragraph structure, with an opening, a brief overview and a sequence of details. Linking expressions such as “First,” “Than” and “Next” show an attempt to guide the reader. However, the progression is not consistently logical: the overview lists features without explaining the overall transformation, and the final paragraph returns to the western fields after discussing the eastern buildings. Some connections are unclear, particularly “the sheep became a solar panels and a camping field” and “with keeping farmhouse and chickens.” Use paragraphs to group related areas or changes, and connect each feature explicitly to its location and its 1950 counterpart. This would make the account easier to follow rather than relying mainly on sequence markers.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use some relevant map vocabulary, including “farm shop,” “camping field,” “holiday cottage,” “tracks” and “farmhouse,” so the reader can identify several features. However, the range is limited and some word choices or forms make the description difficult to understand. For example, “the sheep became a solar panels” does not accurately express that the land was redeveloped, while “small parking” and “triangle road” are imprecise descriptions. Spelling errors such as “tronsformation,” “beechowood,” “witch” and “periode” are noticeable. Build a more precise set of terms for describing land use and location, such as “was converted into,” “is situated to the north of,” and “road junction,” and check spelling before submitting.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt to organise information into several sentences and use past and present time references, but the grammatical range is limited and errors are frequent. These include incorrect verb forms and agreement in “the sheep became a solar panels,” the incomplete construction “with keeping farmhouse and chickens,” and the awkward comparison “as usual in the periode of 1950.” Articles and plurals are also inconsistent, as in “a small parking” and “a tree.” Most sentences follow a simple pattern, and attempts to combine ideas do not consistently produce clear relationships. Practise accurate past-to-present comparisons, for example, “The sheep field was replaced by a camping area and solar panels,” and check articles, plural nouns and verb forms in each sentence.
