Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

You identify the broad transformation from a sheep area to visitor facilities, mentioning the camping site, solar panels, parking, farm shop and holiday cottages. However, the account only partially covers the maps: it omits important retained features such as the fruit, soft-fruit and vegetable plots, farmhouse and chickens, and the overview that “the other things remain same” is too general to clarify the main changes. Some details are inaccurate or unclear: the sheep area is not described as being half covered by solar panels and parking; the solar panels are in the north-east corner, while parking is in two separate locations. Focus on the main changes and accurately compare the locations and features shown.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

The response has a basic paragraph structure, moving from an introduction and overview to details and a conclusion. Some sequencing is also attempted through “In 1950” and “Whereas.” However, the progression is difficult to follow because several map details are combined in long, loosely connected sentences, and the conclusion introduces an unsupported explanation about electricity use rather than summarising the changes. Linking is sometimes inaccurate or mechanical: “Whereas” does not form a complete contrast here, and “also” is repeated. Organise the body by areas of the site or by what changed and what remained, and use clear references such as “the former sheep field” to connect ideas.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use some relevant map vocabulary, including “camping,” “solar panels,” “parking area,” “farm shop” and “holiday cottages,” so the reader can identify several developments. However, the range is limited and some word choices or collocations are inaccurate, which makes parts of the description unclear. For example, “sheep yard” and “camping cite” do not describe the mapped areas naturally, while “provided to outsiders visit farm” is difficult to interpret. There are also noticeable spelling errors, including “vechiles,” “cotttage” and “cam.” Use precise terms such as “sheep field,” “camping field” and “facilities for visitors,” and check spelling and word forms carefully.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

The response attempts a few longer structures, such as “Whereas two parking area made for parking vechiles,” but these are often faulty, and most sentences rely on simple patterns. Errors in agreement and verb forms occur in “The two map shows,” “These changes makes,” and “two parking area made.” Articles and sentence construction are also problematic in “I show you the difference” and “Road passed in middle of farm connected to both end of farm.” These errors sometimes make relationships between features difficult to understand. Practise accurate past and present descriptions, subject–verb agreement, and complete sentence structures; for example, “The maps show…” and “A road runs through the farm and connects its eastern and western sections.”
