Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
You identify the two time periods and give an overview that the farm has changed, then compare several relevant features, including the new parking, camping field, solar panels, farm shop and holiday cottages. The description of the 1950 layout also notes the river, agricultural plots and the barn–farmhouse–chickens arrangement. However, some important changes are unclear or inaccurately described: the sheep area is not simply replaced by parking and camping, and the farm shop is between the fruit trees and internal road rather than within the fruit-tree area. Saying that the rest remains the same overlooks the changed road layout and the barn’s relocation. Develop the overview around the site’s shift from farming towards visitor facilities, and describe these changes more precisely.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The response has a clear overall structure: an introduction, an overview, and separate paragraphs for 1950 and today. This makes the basic comparison easy to follow, and phrases such as “In 1950” and “In the recent time” help signal the time contrast. However, progression within the paragraphs is sometimes difficult to track. For example, “On the left side” and “on the other side” do not clearly identify locations, while “Subsequently” does not express a clear sequence between the new facilities. The repeated use of “there is” also makes the description feel mechanical. Organise each period by location or by changes to particular areas, and use clearer references such as “to the north-east” or “south of the farmhouse” to guide the reader.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use some relevant map vocabulary, including “river,” “track,” “parking area,” “camping field” and “holiday cottage,” so the reader can identify many of the features. However, the range and precision are limited by repeated general wording such as “portion,” “side” and “there is.” Several choices are inaccurate or unnatural: “upgarded” does not convey the intended change, “way to road” is unclear, and “alloted” is not a natural way to describe a facility shown on a plan. Spelling errors such as “tress” and “incoporated” also reduce accuracy. Build a more precise set of location and change terms, and check spelling and collocations before submitting.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and more extended sentence forms, and the time-based paragraphs provide a useful framework. However, some errors in verb forms, articles, agreement and sentence construction make parts of the description awkward. For example, “Beechwood farm has across river side” lacks a clear verb pattern, while “the major portion lie into sheep area” has problems with agreement and prepositions. “Now, there is proper road is marked” combines two incompatible structures, and “Holiday cottage has been included” does not agree with the plural feature shown. Use straightforward, accurate patterns such as “In 1950, the farm had…” and “Today, a road runs…” before attempting more complex sentences. Check articles and singular/plural forms consistently.
