Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5
You identify the main change from sheep grazing to a more developed farm, and you report several genuine additions, including solar panels, a camping field, parking, holiday cottages and a farm shop. The overview also recognises that the former sheep area was used for new facilities. However, some details are unclear or inaccurate: the barn was not replaced by the cottages; the cottages are south of the eastbound road, while the barn remains and is located south-west of the farmhouse. The statement that a new barn was built east of the farmhouse also misplaces it. You mention the farm shop but omit important retained features, such as the fruit, soft-fruit and vegetable plots and the farmhouse and chicken enclosure. More precise comparisons would strengthen the account.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, an overall summary and two paragraphs describing changes. This gives the reader a basic route through the information. However, progression within the detail paragraphs is sometimes difficult to follow, particularly in the long sentence beginning “Solar panels were built…” and ending “this all were developed…”. The sequence of locations is not consistently clear, and “On the on eastern” makes the next paragraph harder to process. Linking expressions such as “additionally,” “more ever” and “Further more” are used mechanically or inaccurately. Group features by area and use clear references such as “in the north-east” and “farther south” to make comparisons easier to follow.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use relevant map vocabulary, including “solar panels,” “holiday cottages,” “farm shop,” “road” and “parking,” and you attempt to describe change with phrases such as “was converted into.” This provides a minimally adequate range for the task. However, noticeable word-choice, collocation and spelling problems reduce precision: “cottages field” is not an accurate label, “parking spacing” is unclear, and “fruit tress” is misspelled. “Urbanised” is also too broad for describing a farm that has added visitor and commercial facilities. Aim for accurate, natural phrases such as “parking areas,” “a camping field” and “the former sheep pasture,” and check spelling and word forms before submitting.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and more complex sentences, including clauses with “which” and contrasts between the two maps. However, control is uneven, and several sentence structures are faulty or incomplete. For example, “Where, more parking areas and cottages field were added” is a fragment, while “this all were developed” has a subject–verb agreement error. There are also problems with articles and prepositions in “on the north east of farm side” and “On the on eastern of the farm.” The long sentence about the north-east facilities combines several ideas without reliable grammatical control. Use shorter, complete sentences and check subject–verb agreement, articles and prepositions; then build complexity with accurately formed clauses.
