Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
You identify the two time periods and include a relevant overview that the farm changed substantially, then mention several key features, including the new farm shop, parking, camping field, solar panels and holiday cottages. However, the overview is unclear about the main pattern of change, and some comparisons are inaccurate or too general. For example, “other staff are unchanged” is not supported: the track became a road, and the eastern area was redeveloped. The 1950 description also misplaces the fruit plots as being beside the main road, while they were south-west of the track. To strengthen the response, describe the main changes accurately and compare the retained agricultural areas and buildings with the new facilities.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The response has a basic, useful structure: an introduction, an overview, and separate paragraphs for 1950 and today. This helps the reader follow the time sequence. However, progression within the paragraphs is uneven, and several ideas are joined in ways that make their relationships unclear. For instance, “Beginning on the now added a farm shop also in contrast” does not clearly show where the shop is or what it contrasts with. Linking phrases such as “Moreover,” “also” and “in contrast” are sometimes repetitive or used without a clear logical connection. Organise each period from one area of the map to another, and use simpler, more precise links to show additions, removals and features that remained.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use some relevant map vocabulary, including “cultivated,” “parking area,” “holiday cottages” and “solar panels,” so the reader can identify several developments. However, the range is limited and there are noticeable spelling and word-choice problems that sometimes make meaning difficult to recover. Examples include “fruts trees,” “soft trees,” “staff” for facilities, and “cootages.” Some phrases are also unnatural, such as “track road” and “attach with highway.” Aim to use accurate, task-specific terms consistently: for example, call the route an “internal road” and describe the fruit plots as “fields” or “areas.” Proofreading spelling and choosing precise nouns will make the map description clearer.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5
You attempt both simple statements and longer sentences, but control of sentence structure and verb forms is inconsistent. Errors occur in basic clauses, as in “Beechwood farm has change signaficantly” and “There are lot of changes are seen,” and in longer constructions such as “There was track which was attach with highway it has develop to a road.” These problems can obscure how features relate or what changed. Articles, agreement and tense also need attention: use forms such as “a track,” “there are,” and “has changed,” and keep past-tense descriptions for 1950 distinct from present-day features. Build accuracy first with clear, complete sentences, then add longer comparisons using controlled clauses.
