Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

You identify the two time periods and report several genuine changes, including the road replacing the track, the addition of parking, a camping field, solar panels and holiday cottages. These details show a relevant response to the plans. However, the overview is unclear: “in past few years river site fruit tress and soft fruits vegetables” does not summarise the main transformation. Some information is inaccurate or confusing, particularly the claim that a shop and chickens were added below the farmhouse; chickens were already present, and the farm shop is between the fruit trees and road. The “big sheep market” is also a misreading of the sheep area. A clearer overview and more accurate comparisons of the unchanged fields and relocated buildings would strengthen the report.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.5

The response has a basic time-based structure: it first refers to the earlier plan and then introduces the present with “Today.” This gives the reader some sense of comparison. However, the first section is difficult to follow because several features are crowded into one sentence, and the overview does not establish a clear organising idea. Connections such as “and also,” “below,” and “right side” are repetitive or imprecise, so the relationships between locations are not always clear. The final paragraph also lists changes without grouping them by area or explaining how they relate. Use separate, purposeful paragraphs for the overview and the two plans, and organise details by location, using clear references such as “to the north-east” and “south of the farmhouse.”

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use some task-relevant vocabulary, including “fruit trees,” “soft fruits,” “vegetables,” “parking area,” “solar panels,” and “holiday cottages,” which helps identify features on the plans. However, the range is limited and several choices are inaccurate or unnatural, such as “sheep market” for the sheep area and “make a shop” for the farm shop. Spelling errors in “tress,” “frits,” and “caping” also reduce precision. Repeated use of “farm,” “make,” and “build” makes the description sound vague, while “right side” is less precise than a directional phrase. Aim to use the labels shown on the plans and vary verbs with accurate terms such as “was replaced by,” “was added,” and “is located.”

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5

The response attempts a few longer sentences and uses a basic contrast between past and present, but sentence structures are mostly simple or joined with “and,” and errors frequently make relationships difficult to understand. For example, “Beechwood farm make different track in the farm” lacks appropriate tense and sentence structure, while “Today farm location is same” has missing articles and an unclear construction. The sentence beginning “Track replaced by road” also needs a passive form, such as “The track was replaced by a road.” Articles, verb forms, and prepositions are inconsistent throughout. Practise writing complete sentences with a clear subject and verb, and use past simple for the 1950 plan and present simple or present passive for today’s features.
