The two maps of the site of a farm in 1950 and the same site today show changes made.

Overall, In the site of 1950 , the area was bounded for cultivation and gatheing of fruit while, the map of today shows huge number of changes made to the simple site of 1950 in order to attract tourist for camping ,and to provide them with other facilities like roads, shops, and parking electricity as well.

In old and reconstructed site, the area designated to fruit trees ,soft fruits , vegetables ,farm house and ,for chickens was unchanged. But, track was replaced by road in modern construction followed with the parking areas at both ,East and West sides.More attracted renovations include Holiday cottage at the Eastern corner of site.Introduction of solar pannel is the best changing by keeping in mind modern needs of time. Moreover, the introduction of camping is a good introduction for tourism and outing perspective.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

You identify the broad contrast between the farm in 1950 and today, and mention several relevant changes, including the road, parking, holiday cottages, solar panels and camping. However, the account is incomplete and some claims are inaccurate: the fruit trees, soft fruits, vegetables, farmhouse and chicken area are not all unchanged, since the farmhouse and chickens remain but the fields’ arrangement and access have changed. The farm shop is also omitted, and the overview focuses on tourism without clearly summarising the main transformation. The response contains 142 words, below the required 150; the 12 words copied from the prompt are excluded. To strengthen the report, describe the key changes and locations more precisely, and include a concise overview supported by the map.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

The response has a basic overall structure: an opening statement, an overview, and a paragraph comparing the earlier and current site. This gives the reader a general sense of the topic, and linking expressions such as “Overall,” “But,” and “Moreover” help signal relationships. However, the progression is limited because several changes are listed without a clear order or grouping, and the second paragraph moves from unchanged land uses to roads, cottages, solar panels and camping without explaining their locations consistently. Some punctuation and spacing also interrupt the flow. Organise the comparison by areas of the site or by retained versus newly introduced features, and use clear references such as “in the north-east” to connect details logically.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You use some relevant vocabulary for describing a farm and its redevelopment, including “fruit trees,” “parking areas,” “Holiday cottage,” “solar panel” and “camping.” There are also attempts at more descriptive language, such as “modern needs” and “tourism.” However, word choice and collocation are often imprecise, which makes parts of the report awkward: “bounded for cultivation,” “attract tourist,” “more attracted renovations,” and “best changing” do not express the intended meanings naturally. Spelling errors such as “gatheing” and “pannel” are noticeable, and “electricity” does not accurately describe the solar panels shown. Build a more precise map vocabulary, for example “used for,” “tourists,” “developments,” and “solar panels,” and check spelling and word forms.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and more complex sentence forms, including a contrast introduced by “while” and a sentence beginning “In old and reconstructed site.” However, control is inconsistent, and errors in sentence construction, articles, agreement and punctuation sometimes make the meaning difficult to follow. For example, “Overall, In the site of 1950” has incorrect capitalisation and an awkward grammatical frame, while “the introduction of camping is a good introduction” repeats a structure and lacks a clear comparison. The sentence beginning “But, track was replaced” also needs an article and more accurate clause construction. Practise writing shorter, complete comparison sentences first, then combine them with accurate clauses using “whereas” or “while.”
