Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.0

You identify several relevant changes, including the addition of a camping field, solar panels and a farm shop, and note that the farmhouse and chicken area remain. However, the response covers the plans only partially and has no clear overall summary of the main transformation. Some details are inaccurate or unclear: the sheep area was not replaced by a park; the map shows a parking area near the main road. The claim that a park was demolished and rebuilt at the road turning point is unsupported, and the fruit trees are not described as being on the river side. The unchanged fields are also not in exactly the same positions. The response is 137 words, below the required 150. To improve, describe the major changes accurately, including the cottages and barn, and add a concise overview.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

The response has a basic, helpful division into two paragraphs: one describes changes around the upper and central parts of the site, while the other discusses the fields near the river. Sequencing expressions such as “Furthermore” and “in addition” show an attempt to connect information. However, progression is not consistently clear: the first paragraph moves from the sheep area to parking, camping, solar panels, and then an unexplained claim about a demolished park. References such as “next to it” and “their” make it difficult to identify which feature is meant. The opening also does not provide an overview to guide the reader. Group features by location or by what changed and what remained, and use precise references to improve the flow.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use some relevant map vocabulary, including “main road,” “camping field,” “solar panels,” “Farmhouse,” and “river,” so the reader can recognise several features. However, the range is limited and some word choices or spelling errors make the description less clear, such as “clean down,” “park” where the map shows parking, and “conbverted.” Phrases such as “at the corner of fruit trees area” and “same position” are also imprecise for describing locations and changes. Aim for accurate terms such as “cleared,” “parking area,” “converted,” “adjacent to,” and “remained in its original location.” Check spelling and use consistent labels from the map to avoid confusing a building or field with a parking area.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple statements and longer sentences joined with clauses, for example, “Furthermore, Farmhouse and chickens are still at the same postion as they were in 1950.” However, grammatical errors occur frequently and sometimes make relationships unclear. The opening needs subject–verb agreement and an article (“The diagram illustrates…”), while “it curent layout” lacks a possessive form and has an incorrect noun phrase. Tense and sentence construction are also problematic in “which now clean down and built a park,” and “they now added” should use a suitable present-perfect form. Articles and prepositions are often missing or inaccurate, as in “at the corner of fruit trees area.” Practise accurate past-versus-present descriptions and build complete sentences before adding detail.
