Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

You cover both dates and identify several important changes, including the addition of parking, a camping field, solar panels, a farm shop and holiday cottages. You also note that the river and some agricultural areas remain. However, some comparisons are inaccurate or unclear: the sheep area is not simply replaced by parking, camping and solar panels, and the barn is not replaced by cottages; the cottages are added near the farmhouse, while the barn remains in a different position. The claim that fruit trees have a “small addition” is also unclear. A clearer overview of the main shift from a mainly agricultural farm to a site with visitor facilities, while retaining some farming, would make the key features more fully developed.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

The response has a recognisable progression: it first describes the 1950 plan, then contrasts it with the present-day layout. This gives the reader a basic framework, and phrases such as “Overall” and “In contrast” signal the intended stages. However, the long paragraphs contain many details without clear grouping, and several links are difficult to follow—for example, “on the barn portion they switch with the holiday cottages and farmhouse.” References such as “the other side,” “this triangle,” and “the same place” are not always precise. Use separate paragraphs for the overview and each plan, then organise details by area or by what remains and what is added. More accurate linking would improve the progression.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use some relevant map vocabulary, including “river,” “parking area,” “camping field,” “solar panels,” and “holiday cottages,” so the reader can identify many features. However, the range is limited and several word choices or spellings make the description less clear, such as “upgrade version,” “sheeps,” “poetry fram,” and “small addition.” Repetition of “side,” “same,” and “new” also reduces precision. Aim for standard map-description terms such as “converted into,” “located,” “remained,” and “was added,” and check spelling carefully. More precise vocabulary would help distinguish between features that stayed in place, changed function, or were newly introduced.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5

You attempt both simple and more extended sentences, including comparisons between the two plans, but control is uneven. Errors in agreement and verb forms appear in “The plans illustrates” and “they make parking area”; articles and sentence construction are also problematic in “has an simple style” and “the middle of this triangle is connect with barn.” Several sentences run together, with punctuation and capitalisation errors—for example, “Overall,The old farm…”—which makes relationships between ideas harder to follow. Practise building accurate sentences with a clear subject and verb, and use past and present forms consistently when comparing the plans. Shorter, correctly punctuated sentences would make your meaning more reliable.
