Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

You identify the two time periods and report several relevant changes, including the conversion of the sheep area into a camping field, the addition of parking and solar panels, and the development of holiday cottages. You also note that the river and fruit trees remain. These points address the main purpose of comparing the plans. However, the overview is unclear and some details are inaccurate or imprecise: the river is not described as crossing the site in the south, and the barn is not simply “shift[ed] to track road”; it is shown near the southern road junction. The farm shop’s position is also described vaguely. To strengthen the response, give a clearer summary of the overall transformation and describe the locations and changes more precisely.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.5

The response has separate paragraphs for an opening, an overview, and details from each period, so there is an attempt to organise the comparison. However, the progression is difficult to follow because the overview repeats information later and the account moves between features without a consistent spatial order. Linking phrases such as “On the other hand,” “Whereas,” and “Although” are frequent, but several are used where no clear contrast or concession is being made. For example, “Although, On the right side develop a solar panels” does not form a complete, connected idea. Organise the details by area or by change, and use fewer, more accurate transitions so the reader can follow the comparison.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use some relevant map vocabulary, including “river,” “track,” “farmhouse,” “camping field,” and “holiday cottages,” and you attempt to describe change with phrases such as “remain same” and “change to a road.” However, the range is limited and several word choices or spellings make the description less clear, including “fram,” “raod,” “friuit,” “soft trees,” and “manufacture a solar panels.” Some expressions are also imprecise, such as “some trees are grown” for the different agricultural plots. Build a more accurate set of terms for maps, such as “field,” “plot,” “converted into,” “located,” and “added,” and check spelling and natural word combinations before submitting.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and longer sentences, and the reader can generally identify the features being compared. However, control is inconsistent, particularly in longer sentences. Examples include “the sheep ground was change to a camping field,” “the farmhouse side build a hoiliday cattages,” and “the main road and river remain same,” where verb forms, articles, or sentence construction are faulty. Capitalisation and punctuation also interrupt the flow, as in “Whereas, Some trees…” and the fragment “Although, On the right side develop a solar panels.” Use straightforward sentence patterns first, checking subject–verb agreement and tense, then add complex clauses only when their relationships are clear. More accurate sentence boundaries would improve readability.
