Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

You identify several relevant changes, including the farm shop, camping field, solar panels, holiday cottages and improved internal roads, and you note that the farmhouse and chicken area remain. However, the response does not give a clear overall summary of how the farm has changed, and some details are inaccurate or unclear. For example, the barn has not shifted from the vegetable area to the former sheep area; it remains in the eastern part of the site, while the former sheep land has been developed for camping and solar panels. The river is also not an entrance feature. To strengthen the report, describe the main transformation from agricultural use to mixed farming and visitor facilities, then compare the locations accurately.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

The response follows a broadly chronological comparison, moving from the 1950 layout to present-day developments, and phrases such as “since 1950 till today” signal the time contrast. However, the information is presented as one continuous paragraph, so the overview and supporting details are not clearly separated. The repeated directions “if we look at” and “when we enter” make the progression feel conversational and sometimes difficult to follow. References such as “the sheep area at present” and “near a park” are also unclear. Organise the report into an introduction, an overview, and two detail paragraphs grouped by location or type of change, using clear links such as “In contrast” and “Meanwhile.”

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You use some relevant map vocabulary, including “farm shop,” “solar panels,” “camping field,” “holiday cottages” and “allocated,” which helps convey the developments. However, the range is limited and several choices are imprecise or unnatural for a formal map description. “Comparative improvements” is not a natural way to describe changes, while “huge land” and “park” do not accurately name the sheep field and parking area. There are also noticeable spelling and word-form errors, including “hear by,” “Aswell” and “holidays cottages.” Aim for precise location and change vocabulary, such as “situated,” “replaced,” “converted” and “parking area,” and check spelling and collocations.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt to connect ideas in longer sentences, for example with “when entering the property” and “if we look at right side,” but these structures are often faulty, and many sentences contain errors that make the relationships between features harder to understand. Examples include “there is new farm shop has been opened,” “there are no changes are made,” and “the river which protecting.” Tense and agreement are inconsistent when comparing past and present, and articles and sentence punctuation are frequently missing or misplaced. Use controlled past and present forms—for example, “A farm shop has been added” and “The farmhouse and chicken enclosure remain unchanged”—and separate each main comparison into a complete sentence.
