Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
You identify the main change from a track to roads and note the introduction of solar panels, parking, camping and a farm shop. You also correctly report that the three crop areas remain and that the farmhouse and chicken enclosure are retained. These points address the comparison, but some important details are unclear or inaccurate: the barn was not replaced by cottages; the cottages are south of the eastern road, while the barn remains in a different position near the southern junction. The overview that the farmhouse is “looking modern” is also vague and does not clearly summarise the site’s broader shift towards visitor facilities. To strengthen the response, describe the relocation of the barn and the new uses of the former sheep area more precisely.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0
The response has a basic overall structure: an introduction, an overview and two paragraphs describing changes in different parts of the site. This gives the reader some sense of organisation, and phrases such as “On the other side of the road” and “Next to them” attempt to guide the comparison. However, progression is not consistently clear. The opening of the third paragraph, “From the entarence of the the farm house where old sheep farm was located,” is difficult to connect to the map, and the final paragraph combines crop plots, the road junction, cottages and the farmhouse without clear sequencing. Use one paragraph for the western/northern changes and another for the eastern buildings, with accurate location references and fewer abrupt transitions.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use some relevant map vocabulary, including “converted to road,” “camping field,” “solar panels,” “triangular shaped road” and “remain,” so the reader can identify several features. However, the range is limited and several word choices or spellings make the description less precise, including “solar penels,” “farm shops,” “friuts tree farm” and “chickens farm.” Some phrases are also unnatural, such as “the farm house is looking modren” and “three old farm.” Choose standard map terms and check spelling, singular/plural forms and collocations. More precise alternatives such as “the former sheep pasture,” “a farm shop was added” and “the crops remain unchanged” would help convey the changes clearly and efficiently.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and more complex sentences, for example, “There are two main difference first the track was converted to road and second the solar penels was installed.” However, errors in sentence construction, agreement and articles often make relationships difficult to follow. In “the solar penels was installed,” the plural subject requires a plural verb; “a farm shops was included” also has a number mismatch. The fragment “Now converts to parkings, camping field and solar area” lacks a clear subject and complete verb phrase, while “which combine at the entrance” has an unclear reference. Punctuation is also inconsistent, particularly around sentence boundaries. Practise forming complete comparison sentences and checking subject–verb agreement, articles and clause links.
