Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
You identify the two time periods and report several relevant changes, including the addition of a farm shop, camping and parking facilities, solar panels, and holiday cottages. However, some key details are inaccurate or unclear: the sheep area is not divided into four sections; the four compartments belong to the holiday cottages. The farmhouse and chicken enclosure remain in place, but the barn has moved to the south-west of the farmhouse, rather than simply “near” the chickens. The overview is also vague and focuses on the sheep area rather than summarising the site’s broader development. The response is 139 words, below the required 150, and this limits the detail provided. Add a clearer overview and describe the main changes accurately.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0
The response has a basic structure, with an introduction, an overview, and two paragraphs describing locations and changes. This gives the reader some organisation, and phrases such as “In the west north” signal a shift to another area. However, progression is not consistently clear: the overview repeats a general claim about development, while the body moves between areas without a clear organising principle. Some comparisons are difficult to follow, particularly the sentence beginning “In the north east,” which combines several locations and changes. Linking is also limited, and the final paragraph does not clearly connect the relocated barn with the other features. Group changes by area or by what was retained versus added, and use clearer reference and transitions.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use relevant map vocabulary, including “section,” “replaced,” “added,” and “shifted,” and the reader can understand the general topic. However, the range is limited and several choices are imprecise or repetitive: “section” is used repeatedly where “area,” “field,” or “facility” would be more exact, and “developed” does not specify the nature of the changes. There are also noticeable spelling errors, including “chnages,” “feild,” and “vegitables,” which reduce accuracy. Some phrases are awkward, such as “After taking a quick glance on plans.” Aim for precise location and change vocabulary, and check spelling carefully; for example, describe facilities as “introduced” and features as “retained” or “relocated.”
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt a range of sentence forms, including the overview beginning “Overall” and comparisons using “while,” but control is inconsistent. Errors in agreement and verb form appear in “many chnages has been seen” and “sections are remained same.” Articles and prepositions are also missing or awkward, as in “in provided farm plans” and “from 1950 farm is developed.” The long sentence beginning “In the north east” is difficult to manage and contains a run-on after “second parking.” Punctuation and capitalisation are inconsistent, including the lowercase start after a full stop. Use shorter, complete comparison sentences, check subject–verb agreement, and practise accurate past and present forms when describing changes over time.
