Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.0
You identify the two time periods and mention several relevant changes, including a farm shop, camping, solar panels and the conversion of the track into a road. However, the response gives only a partial and sometimes inaccurate account of the plans. For example, the 1950 description does not clearly explain the arrangement of the three crop plots, and the present-day account omits major changes such as the holiday cottages and the second parking area. The claim that a cottage was built “in” the farmhouse is also unclear: the map shows cottages separately, south of the eastbound road. There is no clear overview of the site’s overall transformation. The response is also below the required 150 words, limiting the detail available to report the main features.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
There is a basic time-based progression: you first describe 1950, then move to “Now,” and finish with a conclusion. This gives the reader some sense of the comparison. However, the response is presented as a few dense blocks, and the information within them is not consistently ordered by location or type of change. The long second sentence groups several features together, making their positions difficult to follow. Linking is also limited: “Moreover” and “In Conclusion” are used, but the conclusion does not add a clear summary of the main changes. Organise the report into a short overview and separate paragraphs for the earlier and current layouts, using location-based links such as “to the north” and “south of the farmhouse.”
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use some task-related vocabulary, including “river,” “track,” “farm shop,” “camping fields” and “solar plates,” so the reader can recognise several features of the plans. However, the range is limited and some choices are inaccurate or unclear, which makes parts of the description difficult to understand. “Main Structured” does not clearly name a map feature, while “fruit streets” appears to mean fruit trees. There are also spelling errors in “vegitables,” “Naccassry” and “form house.” Use precise map vocabulary and check spelling; for example, describe the “farmhouse,” “vegetable plots,” “solar panels” and “road network.” This would make the comparisons more exact and easier to follow.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5
The response attempts to connect ideas in longer sentences, but control of sentence structure is weak and errors frequently affect clarity. The opening, “This picture illustrate … and make the comparison,” has subject–verb agreement problems and an awkwardly joined verb phrase. In “Back in, 1950 there is … all are situated,” the tense shifts from past to present and the sentence lacks a clear grammatical structure. The present-day description also contains fragments or unclear constructions, such as “camping fields also developed in the park and track become a road.” Use past tense consistently for 1950 and present tense for today, and build shorter sentences with a clear subject and verb before attempting longer comparisons.
