Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5

You identify the main overall change: the former sheep area has been redeveloped, and the site now includes facilities such as camping, solar panels, parking and holiday cottages. You also note that the fruit and vegetable plots remain, and mention the farm shop and changes around the buildings. These are relevant comparisons and show a good grasp of the plans. However, some details are inaccurate or unclear: the cottages occupy the area of the former barn is not supported by the plan, and the barn’s relocation and reduction in size are not clearly described. The overview also omits notable changes such as the new internal road and the farmhouse remaining in place. More precise coverage of these features would make the summary more complete.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The response has a recognisable structure, moving from an introduction and overview to details, and it uses signposts such as “Overall,” “In more detail,” and “In contrast.” This gives the reader a coherent general route through the comparison. However, the progression within the body is not always clear: the final paragraph returns to the sheep area and parking after these changes have already appeared in the overview, while the relationship between the barn, cottages and farmhouse is difficult to follow. Some linking phrases, particularly “In contrast,” do not express a clear contrast. Grouping changes by location or by what remained versus what was added, and using references more precisely, would make the organisation smoother and less repetitive.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You use relevant map vocabulary, including “main road,” “Farm shop,” “Solar panels,” “Camping field” and “Holiday cottages,” so the reader can identify many of the features being compared. There are also attempts at more descriptive language, such as “significant development” and “completely vanished.” However, several word choices or collocations are inaccurate or unnatural, including “revolutioned version,” “massive size sheep area,” “Farm shop constructed inside the Fruit trees,” and “two camps were builded.” These choices sometimes make the intended change less precise. Aim for standard map-description phrases such as “was converted into,” “was replaced by,” and “was built within the former orchard,” and check word forms and spelling before finishing.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt a range of sentence patterns, including a contrast with “However” and a longer sentence beginning “Moreover,” and most of the main ideas remain understandable. However, control of verb forms and sentence construction is inconsistent. For example, “the track area beside the main road has converted into road” needs a passive form, while “Holiday cottages took the area of Barn and builded beside Farmhouse” combines an unclear tense with missing articles. “In past” also needs an article, and “Soft fruits and Vegetables remain unchanged” would be clearer with consistent capitalisation. These errors recur across the response and sometimes obscure relationships between features. Practise accurate passive constructions for map changes and check articles, tense consistency and complete sentence patterns.
