Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
You identify the main change as redevelopment and mention several relevant features, including the new camping field, solar panels, parking, farm shop and holiday cottages. You also note that the farmhouse and chicken area remain, and that the fruit-growing areas and vegetables are retained. However, some comparisons are inaccurate or unclear: the barn was relocated rather than replaced by the cottages, and the farmhouse and chickens are not simply unchanged because the cottages and road alter the surrounding layout. The overview would be stronger if it clearly summarised the shift from a mainly agricultural site to one with visitor facilities. The response is also 7 words below the required minimum, so it needs a little more relevant detail.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, an overview and two paragraphs describing changes. This gives the reader a basic route through the comparison. However, progression within the body paragraphs is uneven, and several details are crowded into long sentences, such as the description of the sheep area, solar panels, camping and parking. Linking words such as “however” and “whereas” are attempted, but their relationships are sometimes unclear; for example, “however fruit trees and soft trees both are remained unchanged” does not connect smoothly to the preceding point. Grouping the changes by location or by what was retained versus added, and using clearer references to the two plans, would make the account easier to follow.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use relevant map vocabulary, including “redevelopment,” “installed,” “parking,” “holiday cottages” and “farm shop,” so the reader can identify many of the changes. However, the range is limited and several word choices or collocations are inaccurate, which sometimes makes the meaning unclear. “Soft trees” appears to mean “soft fruits,” while “parking slots” is less suitable than “parking areas.” The phrase “barn was now shifted” is understandable but imprecise; “the barn was relocated” would be more natural. There are also spelling and word-form errors, including “trasnform” and “additional camping field.” Aim for precise labels from the plan and vary verbs such as “added,” “converted” and “retained.”
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt a mixture of simple statements and more complex comparisons, including “whereas” and “with,” but grammatical errors are frequent and sometimes make relationships difficult to understand. For example, “the site undergone” needs an auxiliary verb (“the site has undergone”), and “the farmhouse and chickens were remains constant” combines incompatible verb forms. Articles and sentence structure also need attention in “with a parking on north-east and north-west sides.” The sentence about the barn contains unclear tense and reference: “it moves to southern side connected to road.” Most sentences would benefit from checking subject–verb agreement, verb forms and articles. Use shorter, controlled sentences first, then add accurate comparison clauses.
