Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0

You identify that the farm has been redeveloped and mention several relevant changes, including parking, a camping field, solar panels, a farm shop and holiday cottages. However, the account is incomplete: it does not describe important retained features such as the fruit, soft-fruit and vegetable plots, farmhouse and chicken enclosure, or explain the overall changes to the site. Some details are inaccurate or unclear: the first parking area is near the main-road entrance, while the second is beside the eastern road, not near the solar panels; the barn is not in the centre of the vegetable area. The response is also 140 words, below the required 150. Add a concise overview and cover the main changes accurately to address the task more fully.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

The response has a basic structure, with an opening, an overview and two body paragraphs. Sequencing words such as “Firstly” and “Secondly” help signal the order of points, and the reader can follow the general topic. However, the progression is limited: the overview is broad, while the later paragraphs move between locations without a clear organising principle, and the final sentence is unfinished (“Moreover holiday cottages are aslo”). Some linking phrases, such as “As going through the road,” do not clearly connect the information. Group changes by area or by what was retained versus added, and complete each point so the description develops logically from one feature to the next.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use some relevant map vocabulary, including “parking facilities,” “camping field,” “solar panels,” “farm shop” and “holiday cottages,” which makes the subject recognisable. However, the range is limited and several word choices or collocations are inaccurate or awkward, such as “proper utilizing,” “redeveloped the sheep area,” and “solid concrete roads.” The spelling errors “entrence,” “northen” and “aslo” also reduce accuracy. Use precise verbs for map changes, such as “was converted into” or “was added,” and choose neutral terms like “internal roads” rather than adding an unsupported material description. A wider, more accurate set of location and change vocabulary would make the account clearer.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

The response attempts both simple and more complex sentences, but complex constructions are often faulty and errors occur frequently. For example, “The image which is showed here, illustrates” has an incorrect passive form and unnecessary comma, while “there are major changes have been made” combines two incompatible structures. In “which was being developed by redeveloped,” the verb pattern is also incorrect. Articles, agreement and prepositions cause further problems in phrases such as “near a solar panels” and “at near a solar panels.” The unfinished final clause prevents the last idea from being expressed grammatically. Practise accurate past and present forms, and build longer sentences from a clear subject and verb before adding clauses.
