Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

You identify the main change from a working farm to a site with visitor facilities, and your overview mentions the camping field, solar panels, parking, cottages and farm shop. Several details are also accurate, including the original fields between the river and track and the farmhouse below the barn. However, some important comparisons are unclear or inaccurate: the sheep area is not simply replaced by all the new facilities, and the farm shop is between the fruit trees and internal road rather than within the fruit-tree area. The final sentence about the barn and cottages is difficult to interpret; the barn remains on the site, while the cottages are south of the eastern road. Develop these changes more precisely and describe the retained fields and buildings to make the account more complete.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5

The response has a clear overall arrangement: an introduction and overview are followed by a paragraph about 1950 and one about the present. This gives the reader a sensible chronological progression, and linking expressions such as “Moreover,” “However,” and “In addition” help connect points. The main limitation is that some connections are mechanical or do not clarify the relationship between features. For example, “The change the location of barn and construct holiday cottages in the place of barn” is not a complete sentence and leaves the comparison unclear. The present-day paragraph also groups several changes together without a clear spatial sequence. Organising it by areas of the map and using clearer references to locations would make the progression more fluent and precise.

Lexical Resource: Band 6.0

You use an adequate range of task-related vocabulary, including “transformation,” “solar panels,” “holiday cottages,” and “farm shop,” and the reader can generally understand the features you describe. There are also some imprecise or unnatural choices: “camping field area” is redundant, “a big sheep area” is informal and vague, and “in fruit trees area” does not express the shop’s position accurately. Repetition of “area” and “constructed” also limits flexibility. Choose more precise map-description language, such as “field,” “located,” “added,” or “converted,” and distinguish between a feature being beside, within, or replacing another. This would improve precision while retaining the relevant vocabulary you already use.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt a mix of sentence forms, including an overview with coordinated ideas and a contrast introduced by “However.” However, errors in verb forms, agreement, articles and sentence construction occur in several places. For example, “a main road was runs” combines incompatible verb forms, while “two parking areas … has been constructed” has subject–verb disagreement. “A area” also has an incorrect article, and “The change the location of barn and construct holiday cottages” is a sentence fragment. These errors sometimes make relationships between changes difficult to follow. Practise forming accurate past and present passive constructions, and check that each sentence has a clear subject and finite verb. More reliable control of these patterns would allow your range of structures to communicate the map changes clearly.
