Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

You identify the main transformation from a sheep area to a camping field and note that the farmhouse and chicken enclosure remain, giving the response a relevant overview. You also mention new parking, holiday cottages, solar panels and the road changes. However, some important details are missing or unclear: the fruit trees, soft-fruit and vegetable plots largely remain, and the farm shop is added beside the fruit trees. The statement that the farmhouse and chickens “remain unchanged” is only partly supported: their locations are retained, but the barn is relocated and the surrounding layout changes. The claim that the new cottages are “opposite to the parking” is imprecise. Select and compare these features more clearly, including what was retained as well as what changed.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5

The response has a clear overall arrangement: an introduction, an overview, and separate paragraphs for 1950 and today. This makes the broad time sequence easy to follow, and linking expressions such as “Overall,” “Meanwhile,” and “Furthermore” help signal relationships. However, some connections are mechanical or unclear. For example, “While farmhouse and Barn…” is a fragment, and the repeated “In Addition” does not create a clear link between the details. The description also moves between locations without a consistent spatial route, making the map harder to picture. Group features by area or by whether they were retained, removed or added, and use complete sentences with more precise referencing to improve progression.

Lexical Resource: Band 6.0

You use an adequate range of map-related vocabulary, including “transformation,” “redevelopment,” “dedicated,” and “constructed,” and the reader can generally understand the changes you describe. Some choices, however, are inaccurate or awkward for this task. “Sheep area” and “vegetables and soft fruits land” are less precise than “sheep-grazing area” and “plots for vegetables and soft fruit”; “opposite to the parking” is also an unclear description of location. There are word-form and spelling slips, including “preset day” and “further divide,” which reduce precision. Aim for accurate collocations and use the map’s labels consistently, such as “camping field,” “parking area,” and “internal road,” rather than broad or improvised phrases.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5

You attempt both simple and more complex forms, including the overview contrast “Meanwhile…” and the time comparison “By… day…”. The main meaning is usually recoverable, but some grammatical errors remain. For example, “Most notably its transformation…” is not a complete sentence, while “there was vegetables and soft fruits land” has faulty agreement and sentence structure. There are also errors in verb forms and agreement in “area had underwent,” “Sheep area were further divide,” and “track were convert.” Capitalisation and punctuation are inconsistent, as in “in Addition.” Use complete clauses, check singular and plural subjects, and form past-tense verbs consistently. These corrections would make your varied sentence attempts more controlled and easier to read.
