Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.0
You identify the broad change from a farm to a site with additional visitor facilities, mentioning solar panels, camping and holiday cottages. However, the response covers the plans only minimally and does not provide a reliable overview of the main changes. In particular, the claim that road connectivity “has remained unchanged” overlooks the new internal road layout and parking areas. The description of a partitioned sheep area, three solar panels and two camping fields does not match the plans: the sheep area is replaced, and the map shows four solar panels and one camping field. The response also stops before describing several key features. It is 119 words, below the required 150; develop an accurate comparison of the land use and buildings in both plans.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0
There is a basic attempt to organise the response, with an introductory sentence, an overview beginning “Overall,” and a further paragraph introduced by “Firstly.” These markers help signal the intended structure. However, the progression is not sustained: the final paragraph begins “Furthermore” but ends mid-sentence, so the account has no conclusion or completed description of the site. The first detail paragraph also groups features in a confusing way, especially the references to “one side” and “the left side” of the sheep area. Use separate paragraphs to compare the western fields and new visitor facilities with the eastern buildings and access, and connect each point clearly to its location.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use some relevant vocabulary for describing a site, including “layout,” “facilities,” “partition,” “designated” and “connectivity.” This gives you a basic range beyond simple labels. However, several choices or spellings reduce precision: “potray” is misspelled, “solar pannels” is incorrect, and “changes made into the layout” is an awkward collocation. “Sheep region” is also less precise than “sheep area” or “field,” while “2 camping fields” mislabels the single camping field shown. Aim for accurate map vocabulary and natural collocations, such as “the site has been redeveloped” and “a parking area was added.” Proofreading spelling and avoiding unsupported labels will make your descriptions clearer.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt a range of sentence forms, including a comparison in the opening and a complex sentence beginning “while.” Some sentences communicate the intended meaning, but grammatical control is inconsistent. For example, “by comparing it with plan of year 1950” lacks an article and has an awkward structure; “there has been three solar pannels installed” has subject–verb agreement and verb-form problems; and “there isa” is unfinished. There are also punctuation and spacing issues, such as the space before the comma after “farm” and the missing space in “isa.” Use a clear opening such as “The plans compare the farm in 1950 with its present-day layout,” then check articles, agreement and sentence completion.
