Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
You provide a relevant overview, noting the shift towards tourism and recreation while some agricultural features remain, and you identify several genuine changes, including the farm shop and added roads and parking. However, the account is only partial: important present-day features such as the camping field, solar panels and holiday cottages are omitted, and the relocation of the barn is described inaccurately. The barn is shown south-west of the farmhouse today, but the 1950 plan places it north of the farmhouse, so it is not simply the original barn moved. Some location details are also unclear, such as “a large areas” for sheep. To strengthen the response, compare the plans more precisely and cover the major new facilities as well as what remains.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5
The response has a clear overall structure: an introduction, a summary of the main change, and separate paragraphs for 1950 and today. This makes the comparison easy to follow, and transitions such as “Overall,” “However,” and “Furthermore” help signal relationships between ideas. The organisation is coherent, though the progression within the two descriptive paragraphs could be more systematic—for example, moving from the western fields to the eastern buildings and then to new facilities. Some linking is also awkward, as in “However some agriculture features and remain unchanged,” and “Furthermore” introduces only a brief, incomplete account of development. More precise referencing and a fuller, ordered comparison would make cohesion more natural and less dependent on basic transition words.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use some relevant map vocabulary, including “southern boundary,” “track,” “farmhouse,” “fields,” and “parking areas,” and phrases such as “transformed from” and “recreational facilities” help convey the overall change. However, the range is limited and several noticeable spelling and word-choice errors reduce precision: “sheeps,” “diffferent,” “orginal loctions,” and “acces.” Some collocations are also unnatural, including “agriculture areas,” “used to keeping,” and “the improve acces.” Use accurate labels from the plans and practise common map-description phrases such as “an area devoted to sheep grazing” and “a road was added to improve access.” Careful proofreading of spelling and word forms would make your meaning clearer.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt a mix of simple and more complex sentences, including the contrast in “However, the farm has been transformed…” and the clause beginning “while chicken were…”. However, errors are frequent, and some sentences are difficult to interpret. For example, “The map illustrates the changes have been take place” has an incorrect verb construction; “the farm between consisted” is not a workable sentence; and “However some agriculture features and remain unchanged” contains faulty structure. There are also problems with articles, agreement and tense, as in “a large areas,” “chicken were,” and “have been introduced the improve.” Aim first for accurate basic sentence patterns, then add subordinate clauses. Check subject–verb agreement, past-tense forms for 1950, and the use of articles and infinitives.
