Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

You identify the main change from a farm organised around fields and tracks to a site with visitor facilities, and you mention several accurate features: the fruit, soft-fruit and vegetable areas remain, while a farm shop, parking, camping, solar panels and holiday cottages appear. However, the overview is difficult to interpret, especially “the sites of farm is divide each section,” and some comparisons are vague or inaccurate. The three fields are not simply “between River and Road” today; their positions differ, and the response does not clearly explain that the original track layout has been replaced by roads or locate the new facilities precisely. The barn, farmhouse and chicken area are also described unclearly. A clearer overview and more precise, selected comparisons would strengthen the report.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0

There is an attempt to organise the response into an introduction, an overview and two detail paragraphs, and contrast markers such as “however” help signal change. Nevertheless, progression is difficult to follow because the same points recur: the triangular track and the barn, farmhouse and chickens are mentioned more than once, while the new facilities are grouped together without a clear spatial sequence. Linking expressions such as “whenever” do not express the intended comparison, and punctuation and spacing make boundaries between ideas unclear, as in “Overall, the beechwood Farm.” Organise the details by area or by old-versus-new features, avoid repeating information, and use straightforward links such as “In 1950” and “Today” to make the comparisons easier to track.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

The response uses some relevant map vocabulary, including “River,” “track,” “fruit trees,” “parking,” “camping field” and “solar panels,” so the reader can recognise several features. However, the range is limited and key words are repeated, particularly “made,” “portion” and “track.” Several choices are inaccurate or unnatural: “sites of Farm,” “rough idea of farm,” “parking slot” and “particular portin” do not describe the plan clearly. Spelling and word-form errors, including “Traingular” and “ans,” also reduce precision. Build a more accurate set of location and change expressions, such as “is located,” “was replaced by,” “to the north of” and “alongside,” and check spelling before submitting.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5

You attempt to combine ideas using clauses and contrast, for example, “however today beechwood is look different from before,” but sentence structures are often faulty and the intended relationships are not consistently clear. Errors include missing or incorrect articles and agreement in “the sites of farm is divide,” incorrect verb forms in “is look” and “have made,” and tense problems when describing the maps. Sentence boundaries and punctuation are also unreliable, as shown by “Overall, the beechwood Farm since 1950,Look like…” Capitalisation is inconsistent as well. Use the present simple for the current plan and the past simple for 1950, and practise short, complete comparison sentences before adding subordinate clauses. More accurate basic structures would make the information much easier to understand.
