Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
You identify several important changes, including the addition of parking, a farm shop, camping, solar panels and holiday cottages, and you compare the modern site with its earlier use. This gives the response a relevant overall message: the farm has become more visitor-oriented. However, some details are inaccurate or unclear. The camping field did not replace the sheep area exactly; it is in the north-east, while the sheep area is no longer shown. The farm shop is between the fruit trees and internal road, rather than simply “near” the trees, and the response omits the continued presence of the fruit, soft-fruit and vegetable areas, as well as the farmhouse, barn and chickens. Develop the overview and describe the main spatial changes more precisely.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0
The response has a recognisable sequence: it introduces the general transformation, then lists new facilities and ends with a summary. Linking expressions such as “Moreover,” “Additionally” and “However” help signal relationships between points. However, the ideas are presented as one continuous paragraph, and the repeated “the second one” and “one more” make the progression feel list-like rather than clearly organised. Some connections are also unclear, particularly “The second one farm has extended” and the shift from visitor facilities to electricity access. Group related changes—for example, land use and visitor facilities—and use clear topic sentences and references to guide the reader through the site.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You attempt a range of task-related vocabulary, including “substantial,” “addition,” “installing” and “holiday cottages,” and the reader can generally understand that the farm has gained visitor facilities. However, word choice and collocation are often inaccurate or repetitive: “numeruous differences,” “multiple numerous facilites,” “substantial upgration” and “more facilited” do not express the ideas naturally. There are also spelling errors, including “tress,” “Morever” and “vistor's.” Use precise map vocabulary such as “facilities,” “converted,” “introduced” and “replaced,” and avoid unsupported claims about visitors’ intentions. A more controlled range of accurate terms would make the comparison clearer and more formal.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and more extended sentence forms, including a comparison beginning “As compared to 1950” and a concluding sentence introduced by “To sum up.” However, many sentences contain grammatical errors that make the relationships between ideas difficult to follow. For example, “In the mentioned plans farm has been…” lacks a clear subject and uses an unsuitable tense, while “As one of the substantial upgration is…” is not a complete grammatical construction. Articles, agreement and sentence boundaries also need attention, as in “there were minimal facilities at farm” and the long sentence beginning “The second one farm has extended.” Practise forming complete sentences with a clear subject and verb, and check tense and punctuation when joining clauses.
