Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.
Student answer (Band 5.5)
The diagrams demonstrate the comparison of the facilities of a farm in 1950 and currant year. There are plenty of changes in today's farm.
In the intial picture we can see a place for sheep herding. Currantly there are a camping field in which there are two tants and one tree, four solar panels for electricity and two parking place this particular space. One plarking place is situtated near the highway and otherone is near the middle road crossing from west to east. All of these are located in the northern side of the middle road.
Moreover, the spaces for cultivation of fruit tress, soft fruits, vegetables, as well as residence of chickens, and farmhouse remain unchanged in the southern part of the road.
Furthermore, the location of barn was changed. Initially it was near the road in the east, currantly it is in the south. Two subroads joint in a one new road and goes to the barn. There is a new benefit which is holiday cottages.
Lastly there is a river across the area which is in the southest part starts from the north-west side.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0
You identify several relevant changes, including the addition of camping, solar panels, parking and holiday cottages, and the relocation of the barn. However, the response only partly summarises the plans: it lacks a clear overview of the main transformation from a mainly agricultural farm to a site with visitor facilities. Some comparisons are inaccurate or unclear. For example, the fruit trees, soft-fruit and vegetable areas remain broadly in their original locations, but the farmhouse and chickens are not unchanged in position relative to the other buildings: the cottages now occupy the area north of the farmhouse, and the barn has moved. The river description is also imprecise. Select the most significant changes and explain their locations accurately.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The response has a generally understandable sequence, moving from northern additions to retained cultivation areas, then the barn and cottages, and finally the river. Paragraphing also separates the opening from the main description. Linking expressions such as “Moreover,” “Furthermore,” and “Lastly” help signal progression, although their repeated use makes the connections somewhat mechanical. Some references are difficult to follow, particularly “this particular space” and “Two subroads joint in a one new road,” which do not clearly identify the locations or routes being described. Organise the report into a clear overview followed by grouped comparisons, and use precise references such as “in the north-east” or “south of the cottages” to make the relationships easier to track.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use some relevant map vocabulary, including “camping field,” “solar panels,” “cultivation,” “holiday cottages,” and “located,” so the reader can recognise many of the features. However, the range is limited and several spelling and word-choice errors reduce precision, such as “currant,” “intial,” “tants,” and “plarking.” Some phrases are also unnatural or unclear, including “a place for sheep herding,” “two parking place,” and “a new benefit.” Use standard map-reporting terms and check spelling carefully; for example, describe a feature as being “situated” in a particular area and call the new visitor accommodation “holiday cottages.” More accurate collocations would make the comparisons clearer.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
The response attempts both simple and more extended sentence forms, including “There are plenty of changes in today’s farm” and a sentence beginning “Moreover.” However, grammatical control is uneven, and errors sometimes make relationships difficult to understand. For example, “there are a camping field” has an agreement error, while “Two subroads joint in a one new road and goes to the barn” has problems with verb form, agreement and sentence construction. Articles and plurals are also inconsistent in “two parking place.” Tense use shifts between present and past when describing the two plans. Practise forming accurate comparison sentences, using past tense for 1950 and present tense for today, and check subject–verb agreement and singular/plural forms.
