Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

You identify the main transformation: the former sheep area is now used for camping and solar panels, while the fruit and vegetable plots largely remain. You also note the addition of a farm shop and changes around the buildings, so the response covers the key comparison and gives an overall summary. However, some details are inaccurate or unclear: the barn was not transformed into holiday cottages; the cottages are south of the eastern road, while the barn remains in a different position. The claim that the track was converted to a road is broadly relevant, but the description of the original layout as a “long track” through the centre is imprecise. Develop the overview and describe the new parking areas and cottages more accurately to make the comparison fuller.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5

The response has a clear overall structure: an introduction, an overview, a paragraph on 1950, and a paragraph describing the present-day site. This gives the reader a logical route through the comparison, and transitions such as “In contrast” and “Moreover” help signal changes. The organisation is generally coherent, though some links are mechanical or unclear. For example, “Where area with the vegetables and fruits remain same” is not a complete, clearly connected sentence, and “Whereas” begins a fragment in the 1950 paragraph. The final paragraph also combines several changes without consistently locating them. Use complete sentences and group features by area or by what has changed and stayed the same; this would make progression more precise and cohesive.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use relevant map vocabulary, including “converted,” “transformed,” “connected,” and “remain,” and terms such as “camping field,” “solar panels,” and “farm shop” show awareness of the task’s specific features. However, the range is limited and several word choices or forms are inaccurate, sometimes making the meaning less clear. Examples include “large hactare of last,” “sheep area,” “in current time,” and “the remaing area of the park remain same.” Spelling errors such as “feild,” “accross,” and “remaing” are also noticeable. Choose precise location and land-use terms, and check spelling and collocations. For instance, “the former sheep pasture” is clearer than “sheep area,” while “the site today” is more natural than “in current time.”

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and more complex sentences, including comparisons with “Whereas” and clauses introduced by “as” and “where.” The overall meaning is usually recoverable, but errors in sentence construction and grammatical control are frequent enough to limit clarity. For example, “the sheep are is developed” has faulty verb structure, and “Where area with the vegetables and fruits remain same” is incomplete. There are also problems with articles, agreement, and tense, as in “there was Barn,” “there was are,” and “the remaing area … remain same.” Some punctuation is missing or inconsistent, particularly around commas and spaces after them. Practise forming complete past- and present-tense sentences, checking subject–verb agreement, and using articles consistently.
