Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

You identify the main transformation from a sheep area to visitor-related uses and note that the fruit, soft-fruit and vegetable areas remain. You also mention the farm shop and the road replacing tracks, so the response addresses the central comparison. However, some details are unclear or inaccurate: the sheep area is not simply replaced by parking and camping, as solar panels occupy the north-east corner; and the barn has not shifted to the road. The statement that the farmhouse and chickens “remain same” is broadly correct, but the new holiday cottages south of the eastern road are not clearly distinguished from the barn. A more precise overview and clearer descriptions of where the new facilities are located would develop the comparison more fully.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

The response has a basic overall structure: an opening, an overview, a description of 1950, and a comparison with today. This gives the reader a recognisable route through the information. However, progression within paragraphs is uneven, and several ideas are joined mechanically with repeated “In addition” and “moreover.” The final paragraph combines many changes in one long sequence, making relationships between locations difficult to follow. Some references are also unclear, such as “other half” and “in places of barn.” Organise the details by area or feature—for example, land use first, then buildings and access—and use clearer linking and reference to make the comparison easier to track.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You use relevant map vocabulary, including “replaced,” “track,” “farmhouse,” “soft fruits,” and “solar panels,” which allows you to report several key changes. The range is nevertheless limited, with repeated general wording such as “same,” “added,” and “near,” and some expressions are imprecise or unnatural, including “goes many changes,” “other half was solar panels,” and “the barn shift to near roads.” These choices sometimes make the intended spatial relationships difficult to understand. Build a more precise set of location and change phrases, such as “is situated south of,” “was converted into,” and “remained unchanged.” Check spelling and word forms as well, including “there” where you mean “their” and “shifted” for a past change.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple statements and longer sentences with contrast, as in “although, the track has been replaced with road.” However, control of sentence structure and basic forms is inconsistent. Examples include “after redesign same site today,” “the soft fruits and vegetables are remains same,” and “the barn shift,” which show problems with articles, agreement, and tense. Several sentences run together, particularly the final paragraph, and punctuation around connectors and commas is often inaccurate. These errors sometimes make relationships between ideas unclear. Practise writing shorter, complete comparison sentences first, then combine them with accurately formed clauses. Maintain past tense for 1950 and present tense for the current plan, and check subject–verb agreement and articles.
