Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.0

You identify the topic and mention several genuine changes, including the new solar panels, camping field, parking and farm shop. However, the response reports only a small part of the plans and gives no clear, accurate overview of what has changed and what has remained. The statement that “some areas are still same” is not supported with examples, while the 1950 description is vague and includes the unclear claim “a different types of fruits trees and vegitables.” Important features such as the holiday cottages and the continued presence of the farmhouse, barn, chickens and crop areas are omitted. The response is also substantially below the required 150 words, leaving too little space to summarise and compare the main features. Describe the site’s overall development, then compare key locations in both periods.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0

The response has a basic chronological order: it first refers to 1950 and then to today. The opening and the use of “Moreover” and “which is new” also show an attempt to connect information. However, the ideas do not develop into a clear progression, and the two short time-period sections contain isolated details rather than organised comparisons. “Overall” introduces an overview, but the following statements are too general to guide the reader. Some linking is repetitive, particularly the repeated idea that facilities have been added. Use separate, purposeful paragraphs for the overview and the two periods, and connect related changes—for example, explain how the farm’s agricultural areas coexist with new visitor facilities.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use some relevant map vocabulary, including “farm shop,” “camping fields,” “parking area” and “near,” so the reader can recognise several features. However, the range is limited and some word choices or forms make the description unclear: “a different types of fruits trees,” “soft fruits trees” and “Solar ststem” do not accurately name the features shown. “Facilities” is repeated instead of using more precise terms for the new developments, and “changed a lot” is too informal and general for an academic summary. Improve accuracy by using the labels from the plan, such as “soft-fruit field,” “solar panels” and “holiday cottages,” and vary verbs with options such as “remained,” “was replaced by” or “was added.”

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5

Most sentences are short and follow a simple subject–verb pattern, with only a limited attempt at a more complex structure in “There is a farm shop near to fruits trees, which is new.” Errors in agreement and sentence construction occur frequently: “Some faclities has been added” should use a plural subject with “have,” while “some facilities has added” also needs a passive form such as “have been added.” The opening overview is joined with a comma rather than correctly punctuated, and the time references shift between past and present without consistent control. These errors sometimes make the intended meaning harder to follow. Practise accurate past-tense descriptions for 1950 and present-tense descriptions for today, then combine them using clear comparison clauses.
